Easter is approaching and we’ve had fun whipping up our gluten and grain-free take on hot cross buns with a dash of Chaga. Chaga adds a dose of naturally occurring antioxidants and polyphenols to the recipe; traditionally valued for supporting immune health and cellular function. Its warm, earthy flavour works in synergy with the cinnamon and orange.
Autumn is a time of reduction, the drawing inward of energy, with nature prompting us to release and let go of what is no longer necessary fortifying our bodies and minds for Winter.
Fallen leaves and fruit return to the earth and aligning ourselves with this sense of returning to source acts as our guide when we think about supporting our physical, emotional, and spiritual harmony throughout Autumn in order to thrive.
We hope some of the practices in this guide help you to find your own rhythm and drop into a sense of coherence with nature and her cycles.
The day of love, Valentine’s Day, approaches. While we don’t need an excuse to celebrate this universally uniting force, there’s no greater heart opener than practising self-love or getting up close and personal with the person you hold dear.
One of our favourite healthy treats is whipping up some jellies spiked with mushies and these juicy raspberry and Cordyceps hearts deliver big Valentine’s Day vibes.
Libido is sometimes a topic that we shy away from talking about, or even contemplating within ourselves when the desire for intimacy might be low. Our desire can take a major hit when we’re subjected to stress, with the body placing emphasis on survival rather than procreation and pleasure. Sexual energy is an expression of our overall energy reserves and a reflection of a state of balance and inner vitality. This powerful, life-creating energy is something to be expressed and harnessed.
To nourish the free flow of energy we look to Cordyceps which is not only famed for cellular energy production but has long been linked to supporting libido.
Often referred to as the ‘Mushroom of Immortality,’ Reishi has been honoured across the ages for its ability to calm body and mind, support physical resilience and longevity, while also nourishing the spirit. It’s one of my favourite mushies to write about; Reishi’s traditional lineage is so rich and revered.
If your nervous system has been running like it’s permanently ‘on call’ (wired at night, foggy in the morning, reactive during the day) you’re not alone. In this journal entry, we shed light on medicinal mushrooms that can support the nervous system, and how to integrate them within the rhythm of your day.
The space between years often invites us to pause. To release what’s no longer sustainable and return to what supports us at a foundational level. In this Journal entry, we reflect on grounding, gentle rebuilding, and the rituals that allow clarity, resilience, and vitality to re-emerge.
This mango, tremella mushroom, coconut cream and nut vegan mess one of our favourite festive season recipes! It’s a play on an Eton Mess without the sugar and dairy but with all the sensory pleasure. Vegan Mess has a nicer ring to it than Eton mess!
The metaphorical cherry on top is that Tremella’s subtly sweet flavour is just made for desserts, adding an extra dimension to the coconut cream and delivering all that juicy beauty shroom goodness.

We often get asked if medicinal mushrooms can help support fertility and enhance libido with many couples seeking ways to enhance the process naturally.
Medicinal mushrooms certainly aren’t a cure-all when it comes to supporting conception, but certain functional mushrooms can play a role in supporting fertility as part of a holistic health plan. The key medicinal mushrooms we look to for their capacity to support fertility and successful conception are Cordyceps, Turkey Tail, Reishi and Chaga.

Firstly, because it’s winter here in the Southern Hemisphere and we’re up for any way to get more of the immune-building and energy potentiating powerhouse Chaga into our diets.
Secondly, as a snack, with all of its healthy fats, this slice is incredibly satiating.
Lastly, this recipe is simply delicious! It's our healthy take on a bounty bar, that uses only a few ingredients and doesn't require baking.
